Skins: Help me pick!

31 May

Which one of these gorgeous skins would you buy first? I just don’t see a way to justify buying all of them right now, but as time goes on they might all find their ways into my inventory. Could you help me pick my next one?

Below I’m showing 4 skins, each using my own shape without any modifications… oh, and eyelashes by Cake, hair by Hiccup, and bikini by Refuge (in case you’re curious). I didn’t post-process at all, save cropping and consolidating.

1) Blowpop Tuesday Honey Shir, Seductive: I really enjoy the shading and details of Blowpop skins. I’m not sold on the lips (color and shape), but I could at least tweak the shape bit. I usually avoid bright lips. Not sure why!

2) Dutch Touch – Amy Sunkissed Cherry Dark: I already own one Dutch Touch skin (a freebie from way back, actually) and I keep getting compliments on it. So I’ve been considering taking the plunge and buying a whole pack. What do you think?

3) Detour – Meghan 1: My favorite freckled skins are the ones from Detour. This one, Meghan, just charms the heck out of me. I love the mouth, the shading, and the youthful look. Think I could pull it off?

4) Detour – Josie 1: This second skin from Detour has a sweet face, nice glossy highlights, and an interesting lip shape. I’m not sold on that mouth, but it doesn’t make me love the skin any less. What say you?

Some things to keep in mind: I almost always have black hair, gray/blue eyes, and full lashes. I gravitate towards dramatic eyes and subtle lips. I don’t like modifying my shape, but will do it if I adore the skin enough.

So, care to help me decide?

The makeup on the first skin is a too much (in my opinion). The second skin is gorgeous – the skin tone and makeup is perfect. I would definitely buy the second skin. The third skin is nice in a casual way. However, the second skin is definitely more dramatic and lovely. The first thing that entered my mind when I saw it was glam rock. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the input, Mi! I’m taking everyone’s thoughts into consideration, for sure.

I did forget to mention that each of these is an example from a set, so others might be more or less dramatic.

I’d say you look best with number three or four. Meghan makes you look more mature (in a good sense) and sexy, but still being next-door-ish (aha?). Josie looks very fresh, but more oops!-underage?-look. Oh, and the brows aren’t looking that good with black hair. So Meghan it is! 😉
Dutch Touch would give you a nice six-pack though…
No.1 and 2 are lacking a bit the natural glow from No.3 and 4 and they’re both not soo good with the lashes, when you look closely on the outer part of the eyes.

Go for the Dutch Touch Thelma. The lips look fierce and it will give your avi a point of difference!

Perhaps I just need to buy some lindens and take a plunge! I like all of your points and observations. There are tiny details I don’t notice sometimes!

    Dutch Touch for Sure!

So, which one did you get?

Thanks everyone for your input! To asnwer Diva, I bought the Detour skins first. I decided not to purchase the Blowpop skins, and I might one day purchase Dutch Touch, but I’m really liking skins that have a bit more character and “imperfections” (like freckles and such). Plus, I need to save up a bit more money first 🙂
